The Water Institute of the Gulf

In 2021, the Foundation made a $119,000 grant to The Water Institute to build and operate an experimental lab at Bay Denesse in south Louisiana in order to study and improve techniques for maximizing marsh restoration through sediment diversion.  The lab will provide a space for researchers, educators and restoration practitioners to collaboratively plan and implement experiments in designing sediment diversion and retention to optimize wetland restoration projects.
